The aim of REINVEST 2050 is to stimulate competition between companies with low carbon solutions in order to create a knock-on effect and encourage the deployment of innovative solutions within the pulp and forest fibre industries. The launch of REINVEST 2050 was hosted by Members of the European Parliament Elsi Katainen (ALDE, Finland) and Ludek Niedermayer (EPP, Czech Republic) and took place in Strasbourg on 12 February.
The event showcased 21 success stories on investments in innovation, and ground-breaking technology best practices across the forest fibre industry. The exhibition provided an opportunity for over 12 MEPs and 20 industry representatives to evaluate how the pulp and paper industry is making the transition in energy and the bioeconomy, across Europe today.
