The objective of the High-Level Meeting hosted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) on 16 June 2017, in Brussels, was to jointly build the mission of the industrial technologies industry, and explore its new approaches for the next EU Research and Innovation Framework Programme, that will replace Horizon 2020.
Speaking to representatives of the industrial sector and their relevant technology platforms, including FTP, the industrial technologies director of DG RTD, Peter Dröll, welcomed participants and encouraged strong engagement with the process of delivering a joint mission for the industry.
The ambitions of the forest-based sector concerning industrial leadership, as described in its Vision 2030, were briefly presented in the plenary. During the event, participants also exchanged points of view on future technologies and opportunities to develop cross-ETP collaboration.
